Pora is a great place to rest and meet new people. The closeness to the beach and to the ashram were a plus. I would definitely come again. You have to bring enough cash because there are no atms nearby.

This place was absolutely stunning and so so relaxing!! I went as a solo traveler and found that the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Shoutout to volunteers Gary and Lana for always being helpful and kind! I also am a surfer and thought the distance from the break would bother me but, in the end the walk along the beach was nice, and the collectivos ran frequently so I didn’t mind it in the end.

Beautiful and relaxing accommodation. The tipis were perfect in size and cute, the beach is RIGHT there, nice places to hang out with hammocks, everything seemed tidy and clean. Helpful staff. It’s a 30 minute walk to town which is helpful to know, colectivos come every hour to drop you into town which isn’t a hassle if you don’t want the walk. Overall recommend this place!

Amazing place. Rejuvenating. And the people we met there were all in the same vibe. I could’ve stayed much longer. Just bear in mind that the village a bit further so if you go there to surf you will need to commute to the pueblo by collectivo or by walk (about 25 minutes). We went there to surf and it was still the perfect place to chill and relax. I would go back anytime.

The guys here are very friendly, offered me a ride to the village once and were of great help the entire stay. The ocean !!!! Simply magnificent. Great breakfasts (and big) for 80 pesos. They also sell beers there. Lots of cute animals (dogs and cats) live here. Overall -- amazing experience.

This place is something out of a dream. The owners created something very special here that you don’t get to experience very often in life. it’s a tiny bit of a journey from Puerto Escondido (it took us about 3hrs), but every minute is worth it. If you’re looking for an escape from normal life, come here and stay as long as you can.
