It’s one of the most iconic landmarks in Mexico City, located on one of the most iconic streets—Paseo de la Reforma. At sunset, the golden angel glows in the light of golden hour. And the views looking down the tree-lined double avenue are lovely.

This rooftop is stunning at any time of day but if you want a balcony table with the best views overlooking the city at sunset, make sure to arrive before or plan to wait. If there’s a wait, the Sofitel’s lobby bar is a comfortable spot to grab a drink while you wait, but the views don’t compare.

I celebrated my birthday here, but let’s be real—just visiting Mexico City is cause for celebration, and the view from the Sofitel rooftop takes the cake. What sets Toledo Rooftop apart isn’t just the setting—it’s their willingness to experiment. This is a rooftop that evolves, bringing in guest DJs like Poolside, Nicolas Cruz, Feathered Sun, Bonobo, and more. They also collaborate with guest chefs from across Mexico to keep the menu dynamic.

The cocktail menu leans toward fresh and creative flavors, while the food options are innovative but satisfying. Whether you’re here for a sunset drink or just looking for a chill rooftop in Mexico City, Toledo Rooftop delivers a setting that feels both inviting and effortlessly cool.

Perched on the 14th floor, Supra Rooftop features sweeping 360° views of Mexico City, making it one of the most scenic spots to grab a drink. 8. Balmori Roofbar – Cocktails and a Touch of Drama

This isn’t usually my vibe, but I have to admit—Balmori Roofbar has a certain charm. Pink couches snake through the center of this Mexico City rooftop while a disco ball hanging in the center adds a playful touch. Overhead, the retractable roof opens just enough to let in a breeze and set the scene for a stylish night out.

The tables along the edge mirror the same pink seating, but instead of sweeping city views, you’re surrounded by lush tropical plants that line the exterior wall. It feels more like a hidden garden than a rooftop, but the ambiance is undeniably cool.

The cocktail menu is inspired, as it should be at 250 pesos a drink. Naturally, I gravitated toward the tequila and mezcal options and landed on the Smoked Passion—a milk punch-style drink with maracuyá and falernum. Smooth, smoky, and worth the splurge.

Balmori takes its name from a legendary trickster of 1920s Mexico City, and while you probably won’t get away with any grand illusions here, you can at least pretend for an evening—preferably with a strong cocktail in hand.

At Aleli Rooftop, creativity flows from the grill. The small but well-crafted menu is designed for sharing, with a mix of meat and seafood dishes inspired by flavors from across Mexico.
